With reference to your letter 1994/919 of the 27th ultimo, forwarding a copy of a despatch and enclosure from the Officer Administering the Government of Hong Kong, regarding the award of the Silver War Badge for service in the Hong Kong Volunteer

Corps or Hong Kong Defence Corps, I am com anded by the Army Council to state that service in the Hong Kong Volunteer Corps qualifies a man for the award of the Silver War sadge provided that he fulfils

the conditions laid down in Army Order No.29 of 1919.

With regard to the award of the badge for service in the Hong Kong Defence Corps, I am to request that particulars of the constitution of this force and the conditions of service therein

may be forwarded to this Department in order that a decision as to the eligibility of its members for the ward of the Silver War

Badge may be communicated to you.
